Mr. O’Brien has been a real estate executive for over 35 years and co-founded Oak Tree Development Group in 2005. During his long career, Mr. O’Brien has held key leadership roles with local, regional and national real estate development companies.
He has led the acquisition, underwriting, entitlements, design, and leasing for over 17 million square feet of commercial and industrial space. Additionally, he has developed three Hilton hotels and over 200 multi-family units.
Mr. O’Brien, as President of Oak Tree Development Group, is responsible for managing and directing all aspects of the company’s acquisition, development, financing, and leasing activities.
Born and raised in the Greater Philadelphia area; he has worked and lived in Central Pennsylvania for the last 37 years.
Mr. Scott is a top-level results-oriented strategy, planning, and process leader with a comprehensive real estate skill set including development, brokerage, business development, commercial construction, project management, design, and finance on mid-Atlantic projects totaling over a half billion dollars.
Originally from the Philadelphia area, Mr. Scott earned a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from Penn State and began his career in Maryland as a project manager with two of the nation’s largest commercial construction contractors. After earning his Master’s in Finance & Strategy, Mr. Scott returned to Pennsylvania and made the transition to real estate development. Prior to joining Oak Tree Development Group in 2015, Mr. Scott held senior management positions with a leading national industrial developer and a diversified full-service regional real estate firm.
Aaron Hughes joined Oak Tree in 2010 as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Hughes manages all financial matters for the company and oversees all accounting functions, risk management and Information Technology.
Mr. Hughes spent 5 years in public accounting as a senior auditor with RKL, a large regional accounting firm. Immediately prior to joining Oak Tree, he served as the VP of Finance and Controller for a nationally known retail and hospitality destination in Lancaster County. Mr. Hughes managed the financial matters and accounting department for the business as well managing the financial affairs of the business owners and their real estate.
He earned his B.A Degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Bloomsburg University.
Ian Ruzow, Steve Zuckerman, Bob Zuckerman and Rob Liss, are co-founders and principals of Oak Tree Development Group. In 2004, after selling their ownership in Clipper Magazine (a national direct-mail advertising company) to the Gannett Co., the principals, as part of a strategy to diversify their financial asset base into real estate, formed Oak Tree Development Group with Mike O’Brien. Since Oak Tree’s inception, the principals have played a strategic role in the major financial decisions of the company involving: property acquisition, debt placement, managing key institutional and partner relationships, portfolio management, market strategy and company direction.
